WE ARE CURRENTLY FLYING
DRY SEASON ROUTES
Be delighted with sunny days and cool nights during the time of year that the locals refer to as “The Dry”. The dynamic Kakadu landscape changes temperament, with the floodplains receding to reveal lush, isolated billabongs absolutely teeming with birds and wildlife. You will fly over the impressive Stone Country of Arnhem Land, allowing a unique perspective of the contrast between rugged, desolate escarpments and fertile ecosystems.
It is important to know that the iconic waterfalls of Kakadu are seasonal and cease flowing from early May every year, so we will not try to impress you during the Dry Season with something that is not there to be seen… If your heart is truly set on seeing Kakadu’s secretive waterfalls, we encourage you to visit during the peak of the Wet Season – which is when you will see them in all their glory!. The Wet Season Falls Flight is from approximately the 1st of December through until the 1st of May, depending on rainfall.
WET AND DRY SEASONS
Kakadu Air flies all year round with the exception of Christmas Day. Northern Territory has a unique set of seasons during the
year which Kakadu Air's products follow.
Our flights are categorized into wet and dry seasons.
The wet season, which is between November and April, usually brings on storms and rain, awakening Kakadu's roaring waterfalls.
The dry season, which takes place between the cooler months of May to November, brings exceptional views of Kakadu and a wider variety of flights.
